Varsity Field Hockey
Back to Back Founders League Champions
Message from the Coach
Kent’s field hockey program consists of two teams: the highly-competitive varsity and a developmental junior varsity team geared towards those new to or less experienced in the sport. The most athletic and skilled players compete at the varsity level, but players of all abilities can find a spot within the program. We compete in the Founders League and are a Class A school (the highest level) in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC). Several Kent players participate in the US Futures program, College Connection, and over the years, many have competed at the US Field Hockey Festival. Colleges and universities at which recent graduates have continued their playing careers include Bates, Bucknell, Cornell, Manhattanville, Smith, Union, and Yale.
Kent pursues excellence in all of its programs and I bring passion and love for field hockey to the program. An important aspect of the field hockey squad is the focus on perseverance, respect for self and others, and most importantly, character development. Through the pursuit of healthy habits and participation in competitive athletics, Kent scholar-athletes embrace the level of commitment necessary to achieve their individual goals while recognizing the importance of academic pursuits. I love the daily challenge of inspiring young scholar-athletes and I coach with a high level of enthusiasm. The continuing strength of the program depends on the commitment of new and returning athletes. If you have a passion for the game and are a dedicated scholar-athlete, you could be a valuable addition to the program. If you are interested in a challenging yet rewarding field hockey experience, please contact me. Go Kent!
